This site leads you step-by-step through the process of writing an academic essay in English. It is very clear and simple to use. It will help you understand what is required in an academic essay. There are a number of tasks and exercises to do. Particularly recommended for undergraduate students. This is a really useful resource (particularly for undergraduates). Probably the best and most comprehensive on-line resource for academic writing. This site offers everything you need for writing. You can also sign up for email writing tips. This site is organised in nine sections covering all aspects of academic writing. Detailed explanations can be tested by taking on-line quizzes. Very thorough site and highly recommended. A very comprehensive site that answers students' practical questions about different types of academic writing. This site is for engineering students. Again, this site should answer most of your questions about writing reports, technical documents, memos, case studies, progress reports, bibliographies and plagiarism. This site is designed to help you find your own "academic" voice and help you understand the specific types of language you need in your subject area. The areas covered are; business, science, social science, and humanities. You can also watch short videos of lecturers talking about their subjects and academic language. Very informative site. |
